About David

I was born in London on 4/8/1972. My parents emigrated from Nigeria to London in the early 1960s.

My father was a doctor and politician, my mother (my biggest inspiration) who is now retired and spends most of her time in Nigeria, dedicated most of her adult life to raising her six children of which I am the youngest.

Away from work, my family remains my highest priority and if time permits, I indulge in writing poetry, reading history, politics and improving my Spanish and Swedish.

In January 2009 four years after running Fusion Functional Training AB, I started to get disillusioned with the fitness industry in Göteborg. I felt that the quality was on an ever decreasing level and combined with a lack of probity within the workforce, I knew it would be a matter of time before I sought new pastures.

In June 2009 I resigned from all my positions and will now pursue a career in Politics and Evangelism. I strongly believe that whilst working in the Political and Evangelical arenas, I can help to alleviate and eradicate the negative forces that confront us in our society today.

My retirement didnt last long, like an athlete that has retired from his sport to early, it was only a few months before I realised that the best way to bring about change was to be on the inside. So in the autumn of 2009, I launched DS Personal Training School.

During my 8 years of been the founder and visionar of DS, I had the privilege of been part of the education team of over 6000 personal trainers worldwide. Through DS, we managed to provide 1000s of jobs to our graduates and help provide the sport, health and fitness industry with some of its best professional trainers and coaches.

Sadly, after a very turbulent 2015, where I suffered heavy personal losses, in order to retain my mental and physical wellbeing, I stepped down from having a major role in the company and left the company in the hands of the other shareholders. This move proved to be a disaster as a combination of poor leadership and management and decreased levels of customer service, gave our competitors the edge in the market and drastically reduced our market share. In the beginning of 2017, I formally resigned completely my position in DS to seek new pastures.

In 2018, I took a position as a PT Co-ordinator for Elite Training Centre in Gothenburg. My role there is to recruit and train Swedens best personal trainers. I also give my 30 years of experience to help teach new personal trainers for 21st Century Personal Training School, which is one of Swedens fastest growing Personal Training Schools.

Since 2011, I have worked with elite football in Sweden. My first role was working as a strength and conditioning coach and motivational coach for ÖIS. During my two years in this role, I could see that there were many things missing in the senior players in regards to strength, speed, agility, technic, power, mindset, nutrition and conditioning. So, I decided to undertake several football educations to get a better understanding of how I could effectively coach players. I also realised that the best place to start would be working with youth players and over the last ten years, I have developed youth players who play in the top academies in Sweden, youth players who play in the top academies in Europe, youth players who play for the junior national team, and youth players who have gone on to play senior football on a high level in Scandinavia..
My way of developing players is very unique and with consistent workouts i am able to improve the player technically, physically and mentally via individual sessions, small group sessions and pre and off season camps during spring, summer and winter. In order to meet the demand for my services, I will be launching an online service in the summer of 2023.
